Dry at last!
Thanks Trev. My own wheels at last. At least car wheels. Have been on a motorbike for a couple of years but fed up with our awful weather. Once I had decided to swap biking for comfort I needed to get an instructor and found Trev's website. It made a lot of sense and signed up. I thought with 2 years biking it would be easy enough. I just kept forgetting how heavy a car is and how long. So I failed first time pulling out too late - Trev said he knew that if I failed that would be the reason. Annoying cos I only had 2 faults. But passed 2nd time and now I am car hunting before it snows.
Trev's comment - Thankyou for your comments Joe. I had fun - how many times did I say when you pulled out of the junctions - don't forget you have a long behind and you said - don't get personal. Enjoy the dry and warmth!

A very happy Mum
I just wanted to add something to Trevor's 'Words of Praise' It has nothing to do with how good he is (although there is no doubt about that). My son has severe learning difficulties and has attended special schools where the going has been tough at times - he takes some handling and needs full understanding. Now Mxxx is old enough to learn to drive. For obvious reasons we are remaining anonymous. Although he has been granted a provisional licence I fully appreciate that he will never take a test. His father and I just wanted him to have as normal an upbringing as possible. So its only natural that he wants to drive a car. Our daughter passed with another instructor 2 years ago so we approached him for his opinion. We were turned down flat. We tried another who came reccommended with the same rebuff. Then by chance we happened to be parking alongside Trevor who was shopping in Sainsbury's and had left his nameboard on his car. He seemed very approachable and joked with me about being able to park nicely in the bays. I said that I reckoned my son could do it better than me if he was given the chance. Mxxx was with me at the time - one thing lead to another and guess what - Mxxx is driving and is so happy. He looks forward to his lesson - just one hour every 2 weeks but I am assured that Trevor feels he can eventually pass his test. Several people have commented that Trevor is using Mxxx as a meal ticket - I give them an earful. Nothing could be further from the truth. He has given our son the chance to do something that comes naturally to most people and when you see the joy on Mxxx's face when he returns words cannot express how grateful we are to Trevor for giving him the chance. A very big THANKYOU from us all.
Trev's comment - And its a very big thankyou from me - Mxxx is a joy to take out. Yes he is difficult at times but we pull over to the side of the road, have a little chat and then its off again. 8 lessons so far - Mxxx and I call them 'rides'. We are pulling away and stopping safely, successfully doing hill starts, turning corners accurately, and have even been on a quiet roundabout. And the biggest surprise of all - he hasn't stalled once - I kid you not!!!!! Its not only Mxxx who looks forward to his 'ride'.

John - Fantastic!
Trev always told me to keep things simple - keep your head clear and concentrate. So I will keep my comment simple - What a brilliant instructor!!!!!!!! Thanks Trev.
Trev's comment - Thanks for that simple comment John. We always enjoyed ribbing one another on lessons. Guess you have just had the final word!!!!!!! (Or did you?)

Gareth - Trevor is a legend!
I found Trevor through Google, maybe in the same way you are reading this now! I found Trevor to be an excellent teacher. Trevor is always extremely polite and professional and I found his methods extremely helpful in learning to drive. I took Trevor's recommendation of the frequency and duration of lessons literally as I wanted to make sure I was going to be following the best course of action. I found Trevor to be 100% reliable, flexible and everything I wanted from a driving teacher. I passed 2nd time as I had a bad case of nerves on my first attempt. Trevor was extremely supportive and helpful after my initial failure and I pretty much flew through my second test with only 1 minor. I almost miss my lessons as they gave me that great feeling of confidence in the learning process. I remember all the tips Trevor gave me and I am thinking of doing my passplus!
Trev's comment - Thanks for that Gareth - it means a lot to me. However you are not doing yourself justice. You only failed your first test because of an impatient driver who really hassled you on your parrallel park within 3 mins of the end of your test and you ended parked 6" on a dropped kerb. And you only had 2 driving faults! It's a tough world!

Jarett L - Excellent Instructor
I had driving lessons with Trevor. I found him to be patient, informative, easy going and fun. I passed very quickly in only 25 lessons which is great because I have always been a slow learner.
Trev's comment - You fully deserved your pass Jarett. You worked hard in your lessons and it paid off. Well done.

Samreen M - Superb Instructor
I have always had a confidence problem and been very nervous about driving. Trevor helped me to overcome my fears and become at ease with driving. His support and continuous motivation helped me to excell in my driving so I became confident as well as competent behind the wheel. His dedication and instructing skills are amazing - his manner of teaching is wholly accessable and his step by step teaching allowed me to follow things easily. I had an extremely positive driving experience and am happy to say I've passed.
Trev's comment - Thankyou Samreen (and thankyou for the chocs - my waistline is a bit tighter now!) You were a delight to teach.

Susan P - Freedom at last!
I had seen a review that Trevor is a legend. This was a compliment I couldn't resist. I am 56 years old and have had 3 different instructors spanning most of my adult life, eventually giving up in desparation at 45 years old, because I could not understand them. OK. I'm a slow learner but I knew I wasn't that stupid. I am now 56 and decided to try for one last time. Trevor made everything so easy, I understood all the manoeuvres and passed my test 1st time with just 3 driving faults. Can you have a superlative to a legend?
Trev's comment - Careful Sue. My head won't fit through the door! You were the classic example of getting in with the wrong instructors - driving around car parks - off road tuition - a whole hour just practicing 1 manoeuvre! They eroded your confidence and robbed you of 30 years of driving freedom. Readers please note that Sue followed up her test with motorway tuition, has her own car and drives 20 miles daily to work on the M3. I am really proud of you! Well done.

Marilyn R - A 'model' instuctor!
Simon having returned safely from his second 'solo voyage', I thought I would write to you to express our gratitude and sincere thanks for your contribution to his success in the driving practical test. We were delighted that he passed first time, but recognise the role your outstanding teaching played in his achievement. Although I imagine that you would contend it was Simon who passed the test, without doubt your excellent teaching was a major factor in his passing at the first attempt. Having had another teacher before you, I know Simon was as aware as I was of the high standard of tuition you offered; your professionalism and thoroughness, coupled with the friendly interest you show in your pupils, I believe is unique. Our experience would suggest that you are a 'model' instructor from the point of view of the anxious parent! - and I would not hesitate to recommend you to any parent with a child about to start driving lessons. (I'd be more than happy for you to quote me on that.) Once again, many thanks for all your work with Simon (including all the waiting around while he was in the shower - it must be a relief that all of that is over!)
Trev's comment - Wow! What can I say? If I was forging a testimonial I couldn't have bettered yours. Simon was frustrating sometimes - but he isn't the only one to forget days or times of lessons - it goes with the age - until you reach my age when you cant even remember why you opened the fridge door! But when Simon and I got going on our lessons he was a pleasure to teach - and sharing similar interests always makes for an enjoyable lesson.

Binu - A big thankyou
I was recommending Trev to my friend and showed him the website. I saw a compliment page and asked if I could add my sincere thanks. I thought driving would be easy because I had been driving in India for 8 years. I was surprised at the knowledge I needed for my driving test. Trev was very patient with me even though it took 3 attempts to pass. My faults were nothing to do with him. After my failures he pointed out my mistakes and I realised how stupid I had been. Everything had been shown to me in my training. I just forgot on my test.
Trev's comment - Thankyou Binu for your comments. You came to me through a recommendation from a friend and that showed trust in me. Yes - you were taken by surprise at how much stricter the marking was at test standard. But together we got there in the end! Well done.
